If approved, Moutaineer XPress will move 2.7 billion cubic feet of natural gas per day

The Intelligencer / Wheeling News-Register reports that the Mountaineer XPress pipeline project planned for West Virginia will move 2.7 billion cubic of natural gas per day.

The pipeline will carry natural gas from the Marcellus and Utica shale plays in Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia to markets in other states.

Columbia Pipeline Group has will apply to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission for the project in spring 2016. The company hopes to begin construction next fall and have the pipeline online in 2018 upon approval from FERC.
