APV Renaissance Partners, a subsidiary of American Power ventures, is planning to build a natural gas-filed power plant at Hatfield’s Ferry in southwestern Pennsylvania, according to ShaleOhio.

Located in Greene County, Hatfield’s Ferry was previously used as a coal-burning power plant. It is owned by FirstEnergy Corp., who closed the plant in 2013 because it was losing money on the venture.

New Jersey developer, APV Renaissance Partners is planning to submit a permit for a combined-cycled power plant to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection within the next month.
