The Constitution Pipeline Co. has decided to take its fight with New York State to the United States Supreme Court, according to Kallanish Energy.

The project sponsors, which include Williams Cos., Cabot Oil and Gas, Piedmont Natural Gas and WGL Holdings, released a statement saying, “We continue to believe that this federally-approved project has been unjustly prohibited from construction.”

Constitution Pipeline Co. has asked the U.S. Supreme Court to review the judgment of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, which denied Constitution’s challenge after the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation denied the company’s application for water-quality certification.
