The Vindicator reports that at the Ohio Statehouse, action is being taken regarding several fracking issues.

Later this year, it is possible that stricter penalties for illegal dumping of fracking waste will be drafted into legislation. A potential change in taxes for oil and gas produced from fracking could be written into legislation. Also discussed were ideas to get oil and gas companies to hire local Ohio employees instead of out-of-state workers.

On another note, the Energy Industry Training Center at Stark State, which prepares students for employment in the oil and gas industry, received $2.5 million.
