Marcellus drilling cuts will affect local suppliers, haulers, construction firms

Marcellus shale producers will make cuts in their drilling plans again this year, Philadelphia Media Network reports.

Seneca Resources Corp., Cabot Oil & Gas Corp. and EQT. Corp. are among the companies that have announced smaller budgets, reduced rigs and delayed plans for drilling and pipelines. However, gas production in Pennsylvania has remained steady, but a lack of infrastructure has kept it from getting to markets.

One thing Marcellus drilling has done for local economies is bring business to local suppliers, haulers and construction firms, but decreased drilling will affect local spending.
