Balking from its previous estimate of a mid-2020 full in-service date, EQM Midstream Partners LP recently pushed completion of its Mountain Valley Pipeline back again, according to Reuters.

The company doesn’t anticipate having the natural gas line that will run from West Virginia to Virginia finished until late 2020. The project’s estimated price jumps from $4.8-$5 billion to $5.3-%5.5 billion.

When EQM started construction in February 2018, it estimated Mountain Valley would cost about $3.5 billion and be completed by the end of 2018. However, legal challenges by environmental and other groups to federal permits have resulted in lengthy delays and higher costs.
