Natural gas, petroleum, renewables use increase in US

Between 2014 and 2015, the U.S. has consumed more petroleum, natural gas and renewables, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration.

With increased natural gas production and continued low prices, natural gas use totaled 29 percent of the nation’s overall energy consumption in 2015.

Coal use fell 12 percent between 2014 and 2015, now at its lowest level since 1982. Nuclear energy use showed no change.
