Over the course of the Marcellus and Utica Shale booms, Pennsylvania has always maintained a lead in rigs counts over Ohio, according to the Pittsburgh Business Times. However, that traditional lead has gotten narrower in recent months as more takeaway capacity comes online in Ohio.
