RH energytrans filed an application with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to build a 60-mile pipeline to connect shale production in northwest Pennsylvania to markets in northeast Ohio, according to Marcellus Drilling News.

The Risberg Line Project route would begin in the Meadville, Pennsylvania area and run northwest to Ashtabula County, Ohio. It would utilize approximately 32 miles of existing pipeline, and install around 16 miles of new pipeline in Pennsylvania and 12 miles of new pipeline in Ohio. The pipeline would provide 55 million cubic feet of natural gas per day to Ashtabula.

RH energytrans believes there is a need for additional natural gas supplies in the Ashtabula area to enhance business development and serve as a backup for residential gas service.
