Work continues at possible second ethane cracker location

Even though a decision about PTT Global Chemical Inc.’s proposed ethane cracker in Belmont County won’t be made until 2017, contractors are clearing about one-third of the land at the former R.E. Burger plant for the ethane cracker.
The Intelligencer / Wheeling News-Register reports that if PTT decides to build the plant, residents to the west of the property would possibly need to move.
PTT spokesman Dan Williamson said that even though there currently is a lack of ethane storage in the Utica and Marcellus region, the existing pipelines will be sufficient to overcome that problem.
