( 1 ) Oxford Oil Aquired by Eclipse

Landowners leased with Oxford Oil Company should pay attention. Eclipse Resources, an independent Pennsylvania energy company, purchased Oxford Oil Company and it 184,000 acres in Ohio.

( 2 ) Shale Gas Lawsuits Increasing in Utica Shale

According to a report by Columbus Business First, lawsuits involving shale gas mineral rights are keeping litigators busy, says a study from Steptoe & Johnson PLLC.

The study reported that at half of the oil and gas companies surveyed say mineral rights disputes arise at least quarterly. More than 90 percent believe the frequency of such disputes will increase or remain the same in the coming year.

( 3 ) Radioactivity and Shale Gas

The Youngstown Vindicator is doing its part to debunk some shale gas myths with a post this week on its Shale Sheet blog.

The post is a bit technical in nature, but if you’re willing to keep a dictionary or Wikipedia handy, you should give it a try.

( 4 ) Cryogenic Plant is Running

Blue Racer’s Natrium cryogenic facility is now up and running, according to the Akron Beacon Journal.

The Natrium Processing and Fractionation Facility has been running for a couple of weeks, which is good news for oil and gas producers who’ve waiting for the facility to come online.

The plant is part of a larger, $1.5 billion transportation and processing project between Dominion Resources and Caiman Energy II LLC.
