Nearly 30 percent of Pennsylvania’s 2014 natural gas production came from the southwestern part of the state, according to Pittsburgh Post-Gazette PowerSource.
Overall, 4 trillion cubic feet of natural gas was drilled in Pennsylvania in 2014, up 29 percent from 2013. Range Resources produced the most oil and natural gas liquids in the second half of 2014. The top five producers in Pennsylvania were Chesapeake Energy Cabot Oil & Gas, Range Resources, Southwestern Energy and EQT Corp.
