Developers believe that West Virginia’s shale deposits hold enough natural gas and ethane to fuel several electricity generators in the state, according to The Intelligencer / Wheeling News-Register.

Andrew Dorn and his son, Matt, are the principals for Energy Solutions Consortium, ESC Harrison County Power and Moundsville Power. Andrew Dorn plans to have a $615 million generator running in Moundsville by June 2018. The siting permit from the Public Service Commission of West Virginia as well as the air quality permit from the Department of Environmental Protection have been received for this project. If the project becomes a reality, the plant would be one of the first in the country to burn ethane.

Energy Solutions Consortium intends to build two natural gas power generators in Beech Bottom. The company has also entered a memorandum of understanding to build a similar plant near Clarksburg.
