Jefferson County residents have filed complaints about a fracking fluid recycling operation in Hammondsville, The Intelligencer & Wheeling News-Register reports.
Anchor Drilling Fluids was using new drill cuttings on the site. This doesn’t require approval, but recycling on-site does. The company has been ordered to cease recycling operations until it receives approval from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.
Chief of the ODNR Division of Oil and Gas Resource Management Richard Simmers said in a March 17 letter that state inspectors visited the site, located along state Route 213. In 2014, the agency inspected 27,600 sites.
