Kinder Morgan is working on a pipeline project that will take natural gas liquids from Ohio’s Utica Shale to Ontario, but the Houston-based company is already considering another one, according to Pittsburgh Post-Gazette PowerSource.
The first pipeline, named the Utica to Ontario Pipeline Access (Utopia) East project, begins in Harrison County and will connect to another Kinder Morgan pipeline in Riga, Michigan, and then onward to Windsor, Ontario. The Utopia East will transport ethane and ethane-propane mixtures.
The pipeline being considered, named the Utopia West, could run parallel to the Utopia East and would ship natural gasoline. The newspaper reports that the company won’t build the second pipeline unless it has committed shippers.
