The Columbus Dispatch reports that compressed natural gas fueling stations have opened in Marysville, Ohio and in Marengo, in Morrow County. Central Ohio now has 14 CNG fueling stations.
Natural gas has less harmful emissions than gasoline and it also costs less than gasoline. As of now, medium to heavy-duty vehicles are typically designed to run on natural gas.
Cost is an issue for smaller cars that run on natural gas. For instance, the natural gas-run Honda Civic, which is no longer being produced, cost an average of $7,000 more than a Civic that ran on gasoline. Currently, about 30 truck and passengers car models run on natural gas or a mixture of natural gas and gasoline.
