Oil and gas companies will begin to report financial results from the third quarter this week, and according to The Wall Street Journal, those reports will likely include small gains for some and large losses for others.
Small and medium-sized U.S. companies will be hit the hardest, and it’s possible that they won’t survive the ongoing downturn. One energy analyst says that a third of U.S. oil and gas companies borrowed too much money and sought expensive projects before commodity prices fell.
Predictions vary, but some experts think oil prices will rebound next year. Others say it will take longer to recover from the setback.
