Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf asked his Pipeline Infrastructure Task Force to come up with ways to improve infrastructure development across the state.
Pittsburgh Post-Gazette PowerSource reports that this week, the group presented 184 recommendations for pipeline development, but some of these recommendations are unlikely to be enforced.
The thousands of miles of pipeline planned for Pennsylvania would carry Marcellus shale gas to market. The pipelines would likely affect farmers and landowners. Union workers see the pipelines as job opportunities. Both those in favor of the pipelines and those against the pipelines are obstructing development or enabling it, respectively.
