A number of Ohioans, including state senators, Congressmen Bill John, state Senator Josh Mandel, county commissioners and others spoke up recently in support of drilling in southeastern Ohio’s Wayne National Forest.

Akron Beacon Journal reports that public hearings for landowners and community members were held in mid-November. The U.S. Bureau of Land Management decided against allowing fracking in the Wayne National Forest in 2014.

Those who spoke up in favor of allowing fracking in the national forest voiced their interest in developing their mineral rights.
