Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane has been accused of attempting to litigate antitrust claims in state court, The Patriot-News reports.
Chesapeake Energy Corp. and three of its subsidiaries as well as Texas-based Anadarko Petroleum Corp. and one of its subsidiaries have filed the accusations. Kane issued a complaint against Chesapeake, accusing the company of withholding royalty payments from Marcellus shale property owners. In addition, Chesapeake and Anadarko are accused of making an agreement that would lower bonus payments and royalty payments to landowners.
