2015 impact fees may have dropped, but Washington and Greene counties still receive millions

Washington and Greene counties are still benefitting from Pennsylvania’s shale gas impact fee, even as drilling has slowed and prices have dipped.
According to Observer-Reporter, Washington County is the state’s top recipient of impact fee money again for 2015. The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission reports that 2015 impact fee disbursements for 2015 are nearly $35.8 million lower than 2014 disbursements.
Washington County will receive $5,688,943.13. In Greene County, the municipalities of Morris Township, Cumberland Township, Center Township and Morgan Township are listed as some of the top receiving municipalities for 2015.
