Company that inspects and repairs drilling pipes has steady business during downturn

The Marcellus and Utica shale industry is bringing life to a former pipe manufacturing facility.

The Intelligencer / Wheeling News-Register reports that the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. building in Benwood, West Virginia, is being used by JLE Industries to inspect and repair metal pipes that are used for drilling wells.

Even though drilling activity has declined in the tri-state area, the company has steady busy. Once natural gas prices rise, drilling activity will increase, and JLE Industries will likely have more work.
