OSU engineers develop shale gas process to curb emissions

According to an Ohio State University press release, engineers at the university are developing technologies with the potential to economically convert fossil fuels, including natural gas, to useful products such as electricity without emitting carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.
In the first of two papers published in the journal Energy & Environmental Science, OSU engineers reported they have created a process to transform shale gas into products such as methane and gasoline, while consuming carbon dioxide.
This process can also be applied to coal and biomass to produce useful products.
