EQT Mainstream Partners wants to build a 70-mile natural gas pipeline that would connect West Virginia and other states along a route ending near Alamance County, North Carolina, according to the Greensboro News-Record.
The $350 million project would extend the Pittsburgh-based company’s Mountain Valley Pipeline, which will span roughly 300 miles from northern West Virginia to southern Virginia.
If approved by federal officials as its currently proposed, the extension would be about half as large in diameter as its parent project, the Mountain Valley Pipeline, which consists of piping up to 42 inches in diameter.
