Energy Transfer Partners started construction on its second natural gas compressor station in New Sewickley Township, Pennsylvania, last week, according to the Beaver County Times.
The new compressor station is located at 1087 Freedom-Crider Road in a rural residential area. Although there are several homes nearby, township ordinance requires the compressor station to be at least 750 feet from any home. Energy Transfer Partners hopes to have the station functioning by the end of the summer.
The company is also building a 100-mile pipeline that will transmit Marcellus shale gas from BeaverCounty to a processing plant n Washington County.
