The shale drilling extension of Exxon Mobile, XTO Energy, is looking to sell 9,400 acres in Ohio’s Utica shale play, according to Marcellus Drilling News.

Despite planning to unload the acreage, XTO will still have a strong foothold in the Utica shale play as the current owner of 82,000 acres of Utica Shale leases in Belmont and Monroe counties.

The acreage up for sale, located in Monroe and Washington counties, includes 40 drilling locations with dry natural gas potential. XTO is accepting bids on the property through May 17.
