PTT acquires more land for proposed ‘cracker’ plant

PTT Global Chemical added about 350 acres to its holdings in eastern Ohio. According to the Wheeling Intelligencer/News-Register, PTT now controls about 500 acres for building its proposed ethane “cracker” plant in Belmont County.
The Thailand-based company recently acquired the 350-acre Ohio-West Virginia Excavating property for $17.5 million. A year ago, the company paid over $13 million for the former R.E. Burger power plant property, which consists of about 150 acres.
The $30.5 million in land deals are in addition to the $150 million officials said they spent so far on engineering and design work for the proposed plant.
