Shale oil and gas production continues to climb in Oho, according to production figures released in the Ohio Department of Natural Resources second quarter report.
Natural gas saw a large jump over the same quarter a year ago with a 42.25 percent increase, according to the Farm and Dairy. Oil production increased 10.98 percent over the same quarter in 2017.
The ODNR report listed 2,035 horizontal shale wells, with 2,002 reporting oil and natural gas production during the quarter. Those wells produced 4,488,104 barrels of oil and 554,306,916 Mcf (545 billion cubic feet) of natural gas in the second quarter.
