U.S. District Judge John Adams dismissed a lawsuit filed by more than 60 property owners in an effort to stop the construction of the NEXUS pipeline, according to The Associated Press.
The property owners, who filed the lawsuit in May, wanted to prevent the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission from approving construction plans for the 250-mile high-pressure natural gas pipeline.
Last Tuesday in Akron, Ohio, the judge accepted a magistrate’s recommendation that the northern Ohio court lacks jurisdiction to consider the challenge.
The $2 billion NEXUS project is designed to carry 1.5 billion cubic feet of gas daily from the Utica and Marcellus shale plays across northern Ohio into Michigan and Ontario, Canada.
