The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has reached an agreement with Gulfport Energy, ending an enforcement action that accused the company of violating air emissions standards at 17 well locations in eastern Ohio’s Utica Shale, according to The Oklahoman.

The settlement addresses Clean Air Act violations regulators say they found at the locations during inspections they conducted in 2015.

Gulfport has agreed to pay a $1.7 million penalty and to spend about $2 million to make needed improvements to production systems on the pads in question.
