The U.S. oil and gas rig count rose by six to total 629 on gains from the Eagle Ford Shale play during the week ended Sept. 9, according to data recently released by Enverus.

The Eagle Ford Shale, located in South Texas gained five rigs, moving its total up to 48 — the highest rig count in the basin since early April 2020.

The SCOOP-STACK play in Oklahoma also tallied its highest rig count since April last year, up three rigs to total 32.

The Permian Basin lost two rigs to total 258. The Haynesville Shale also lost two rigs bringing its total to 50.

Rig counts in the Williton (28 rigs), the Denver-Julesburg (13 rigs), the Marcellus Shale (32 rigs) and the Utica Shale (12 rigs) all remind the same.
