US adds oil and gas rigs for 15th consecutive month

The U.S. oil and gas rig count rose for 15th consecutive month in October amid oil prices that reached seven-year highs, according to Reuters.

During the week of Oct. 29, the oil and gas rig count reached 544, which is the highest it’s been since April 2020, according to data from Baker Hughes. The increase marked the seventh in the past eight weeks.

The U.S. rig count is currently up 248 rigs, an 84% increase over the same period last year. There are currently, 444 oil rigs and 100 gas rigs.
