Permitting activity increased in Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia during the week ended Nov. 21. Thirty-two new shale drilling permits were issued across all three states, according to Marcellus Drilling News.
Pennsylvania issued 15 new permits — five to Corterra Energy Inc., four to Range Resources Appalachia LLC, three to Laurel Mountain Production, two to Seneca Resources Co. LLC and one to XPR Resources LLC.
Ohio issued nine new shale drilling permits. Ascent accounted for the majority with six and EAP Ohio LLC received the remainder.
West Virginia issued eight new drilling permits all of which went to Tug Hill Operating LLC, except one. EQT claimed the final permit for a well in Marshall County.
