Gas production has risen by nearly 1 Bcf/d since the start of November in the Marcellus and Utica shales, according to S&P Global Platts.

The 2.7% production increase is pushing the region near record-high production over 34.6 Bcf/d.

Additionally, the region’s gas storage deficit has continued to decrease. Although it fell more than 70 Bcf/d below average at the beginning of September, current inventory levels are estimated to be around 946 Bcf, just 11 Bcf below the five-year average, according to S&P Global Platts data.
