Pennsylvania’s unconventional natural gas production has shown healthy growth throughout 2021 as demand rebounded from the pandemic and spurred price increases, according to Natural Gas Intelligence.
Pennsylvania’s Independent Fiscal Office reported production at 1.884 Tcf in 3Q2021, which is 6.8% higher than a year ago.
As demand has rebounded and dwindling supplies have squeezed the market, Pennsylvania producers have incrementally increased production volumes. Incidentally, the state has shown the strongest year-over-year production growth rate of any top-producing state in the U.S. at 7.7%, according to U.S. Energy Information Administration data.
