29 shale permits issued in Ohio, Pa. and W. Va. during week ended Dec. 4

Twenty-nine oil and gas drilling permits were issued in the shale plays throughout Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia during the week ended Dec. 4.

Pennsylvania issued 14 new permits. Range Resources received four new permits for a well pad in Washington County. Seneca Resources Co LLC received four permits total with two for a well pad in Cameron County and two for a well pad in Tioga County. Three permits were issued to Chief Oil & Gas LLC for wells in Bradford and Sullivan counties. Black Hill Energy LLC, Repsol Oil & Gas USA LLC and Olympus Energy, LLC each received one new drilling permit.

West Virginia issued 10 permits with half being issued for drilling in Monongalia County.

Ohio issued five permits — four in Jefferson County to Ascent Resources and one in Belmont County to Gulfport Appalachia.
