Natural gas production is expected to jump nearly 500 MMcf/d from February to March in the lower 48 states, fueled by growth in the Haynesville Shale and Appalachian and Permian Basins, according to the Energy Information Administration.

The EIA stated it anticipates a combined 499 MMcf/d of production growth from seven U.S. regions in its latest Drilling Productivity Report, according to Natural Gas Intelligence.

Combined natural gas production from the Anadarko, Appalachian and Permian Basins and the Bakken, Eagle Ford, Haynesville and Niobrara shales, will rise to 91.686 Bcf/d month-over-month, according to the recently-released report.

The Haynesville Shale is expected to see a 174 MMcf/d increase in production month-over-month. The Permian Basin is expected to see 124 MMcf/d of growth month-over-month. Finally, the Appalachian Basin should contribute an additional 114 MMcf/d in March when compared to February.
