14 shale drilling permits issued in Pa., W. Va. during week ended April 17

Fourteen new permits were issued to drill shale wells in Pennsylvania and West Virginia during the week ended April 17, according to Marcellus Drilling News.

Pennsylvania issued 12 new permits. Coterie Energy received four on a single well pad in Susquehanna County. Southwestern received three new drilling permits on the same well pad in Susquehanna County. Chesapeake Energy received one new permit, also, in Susquehanna County.

West Virginia issued two permits. Southwestern Energy and Antero Resources received one permit each in Ohio County and Tyler County, respectively.

Ohio didn’t issue any new drilling permits during this time period.
