20 shale drilling permits issued in Ohio, Pa., W. Va. during week ended June 5

Twenty new permits were issued to drill shale wells in Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia during the week ended June 5, according to Marcellus Drilling News.

Pennsylvania issued 13 new permits. Range Resources, Olympus Energy and Pennsylvania General Energy each received three drilling permits.

Ohio issued six new drilling permits during the same time period. Collectively, Ascent Resources and Encino Energy accounted for five of those permits.

West Virginia issued one new drilling permit to Antero Resources.
