Nine new permits were issued to drill shale wells in Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia during the week ended Oct. 2, according to Marcellus Drilling News.
Pennsylvania issued three new permits from Sept. 26-Oct. 2 to different companies in different counties.
Ohio issued four new permits. Encino Energy claimed two of those in Carroll County.
West Virginia issued two new permits to Southwestern Energy in Brooke County.
