9 shale drilling permits issued in Ohio, Pa., W. Va. during week ended Oct. 9

Nine new permits were issued to drill shale wells in Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia from Oct. 3 through Oct. 9, according to Marcellus Drilling News.

Pennsylvania issued five new permits during the week ended Oct. 9 for drilling in the northeastern region of the state. Coterra received three permits and Chesapeake received two permits.

Ohio issued four new permits. Encino Energy claimed two for drilling in Harrison County and Diversified received two for drilling in Monroe County.

West Virginia issued no new drilling permits from Oct. 3 through Oct. 9.
