Enerplus recently announced the sale of its remaining Canadian assets in Alberta and Saskatchewan to Surge Energy for $180 million, according to Yahoo Finance.
The company had already sold off assets in Alberta to Journey Energy Inc. earlier this year. That sale closed on Oct. 31, valued at $109 million.
Enerplus’ deal with Surge Energy for the remainder of its Canadian assets is expected to close in December. Then the company will be free to focus solely on its U.S. positions in the Bakken shale in North Dakota and the Marcellus Shale in Pennsylvania.
