Williams has reached agreements with Coterra Energy Inc. and Dominion Energy Inc. to deliver certified natural gas from Pennsylvania’s shale fields to Dominion’s Virginia company through 2023, according to Natural Gas Intelligence.
Coterra Energy will produce natural gas from its wellheads that will travel through Williams gathering and transmission operations to Dominion Energy Virginia.
Over the project’s one-year lifespan, it’s expected to avoid an estimated 120,000 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent when compared to the national average methane emissions for the production, gathering and transmission segments, according to Williams.
The low-carbon natural gas will help supply electricity and natural gas to about seven million customers in 15 states.
