Ascent receives four more permits in Utica-Point Pleasant shale

Four permits for drilling in the Utica-Point Pleasant shale were issued to Ascent Resources Utica by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources in the week ended Sept. 14, according to The Youngstown Business Journal.

Ascent Resources received two permits for drilling in Belmont County and two for Harrison County.

The final permit issued in the Utica-Point Pleasant shale during the week ended Sept. 14 went to Utica Resource Operating for a well in Guernsey County.

At this time, ODNR reported 14 active rigs in the Utica-Point Pleasant shale play.
