The U.S. Third Circuit Court of Appeals supported the Atlantic Sunrise natural gas pipeline in a recent decision it made regarding the legal fight over a Pennsylvania water permit, according to Kallanish Energy.
The court ruled against the Delaware Riverkeeper Network that had challenged the water permit issued by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection in 2017, stating the challenge “fails on its merits.”
The debate centered around the discharge of water from hydrostatic testing of the pipeline. The Atlantic Sunrise began service last September.
