Crews recently broke ground on a new energy-efficient, gas-fired power plant at the Long Ridge Energy Terminal in Monroe County, Ohio, according to WTOV9.

The Long Ridge Energy Generation Project has been in the works for a few years, and the 25 acres will soon be home to a new gas-fired plant.

The plant will be one of the most energy-efficient in the world with a capacity of 485 megawatts. The $500-million-dollar project will create 300-350 construction jobs and result in 20-25 permanent jobs. The plant is expected to open in 2021.
