The Marcellus Shale Coalition defended Pennsylvania’s drilling industry and state agencies and criticized a June 25 grand jury report released by Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro, according to Kallanish Energy.
David Spigelmyer, president of the Marcellus Shale Coalition, outlined the pro-drilling group’s stance in a seven-page letter to state legislators. The letter addresses the grand jury report released by Shapiro that attacked the natural gas industry and two state agencies: Department of Environmental Protection and the Department of Health for failing to protect Pennsylvania from Marcellus Shale natural gas drilling over the last 10 years.
In his letter, Spigelmyer pointed out “factual inaccuracies, misrepresentations, legal omissions and unsubstantiated allegations.”
