MarkWest Energy, a midstream oil and gas pipeline developer, is in more hot water. This time, however, the company is facing citations from West Virginia environmental regulators.
Just last week, the Columbus Dispatch reported that MarkWest was facing sanctions and fines for construction spills in Ohio.
Now, according to the Akron Beacon Journal, West Virginia environmental regulators cited MarkWest for “conditions not allowable in the waters of the state”.
The conditions are a result of a natural gas liquids spill from one of the company’s pipelines in northern Wetzel County.
MarkWest currently has 52 pipelines in construction, or operating, in eastern Ohio.
