The Nexus natural gas pipeline is planned to cross through Ohio, starting in Kensington, extending to Michigan and connecting to a hub in Ontario.
However, residents in Medina, Ohio oppose to the pipeline’s construction, as reported by Crain’s Cleveland. But there’s a limit to what the locals can do, and it might not add up to anything.
There isn’t local or state control over pipelines, so if the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission approves a pipeline, the pipeline company receives the eminent domain rights to cross the land.
Still, residents are continuing their fight against the pipeline’s construction with signs posted along the its proposed path.
