The Business Journal reports that NiSource Inc. has placed a $60 million natural gas pipeline into service. NiSource and Harvest Pipeline formed Pennant Midstream LLC in 2012 in order to build a 45-mile gathering and transmission system that spans Mercer County, Pennsylvania, Mahoning County, Ohio and Columbiana County, Ohio.

Natural gas liquids are transported from the pipeline’s processing plant, located in Springfield Township, Mahoning County, to the UEO Buckeye cryogenic plant in Kensington in Columbiana County. The pipeline’s initial capacity is 45,000 barrels of liquids per day.
